The said examination was held last April 6, 2014 and administered in 52 testing centers across the country with a close to 200,000 registered examinees who participated the Career Service written examination, 86.49% or 171,684 examinees taking the Professional level with the rest taking the Subprofessional level.

CSC stated that the results are expected to released within forty-five (45) days after the day of examinations.
According to CSC, Metro Manila has the biggest number of examinees at 31,640, of registered examinees covering both Professional and SubProfessional levels. The Southern Luzon (Region 4) came in second with 28,404 examinees; Central Luzon (Region III) with 13,500; SOCCSKSARGEN (Region 12) with 12,734 and Zamboanga Peninsula (Region 9) with 12,533.
The Career Service Examination is a general ability test which covers the following subject areas: vocabulary, grammar and correct usage, paragraph organization, reading comprehension, analogy, logic, and numerical reasoning for the Professional level.
On the other hand, the Subprofessional level covers vocabulary, grammar and correct usage, paragraph organization, reading comprehension, numerical reasoning, spelling, and clerical operations.
The Professional level is 3 hours and 10 minutes long with 170 items, while the SubProfessional examination lasted 2 hours and 30 minutes with 165 items. on the other hand, covers 145 questions also on the same subject areas except analogy and logic which are replaced by spelling and clerical operations. Additional 10 minutes is given to examinees of both the Professional and SubProfessional levels to answer Examinee Descriptive Questionnaire which is not scored but reference purposes only.
Questions for both examination levels include general information on the Philippine Constitution, the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees (R.A. 6713), peace and human rights issues and concepts, and environment management and protection.
Examinees need to obtain a rating of 80 percent to pass the exams.
